Introduction

During one of our travels to USA in order to visit the Carlisle and Hershey markets, Lennart Johansson, Knivsta and I Hans Nyman, Rimbo sat down and discussed future USA travels. I happened to mention that I had a dream about driving a car or a motorcycle from coast to coast throughout USA.

We developed this and agreed on that driving old historical” US Route 66” between Los Angeles and Chicago would increase the nostalgic value of such a travel.

The discussion was between two ford model-a fanatics so of course we should drive model-a.

The question was now what to do after Chicago? Quickly, we decided to continue the travel eastward to Dearborn and the Ford museum and furthermore to the Hershey market and then out to the atlantic coast.

We decided to buy two model-a fords in California and that after the travel we would ship them to Sweden.

We decided also that after returning home we would arrange a meeting to gather interested people.The meeting resulted in that this dream travel would be realized.
